Notes on week 29 of 2024
Also known as weeknotes.
Covers 15 to 19 July 2024.
Published 19 July 2024.
3 things this week:
community standards,
job interviews.
I'm typing to:
I took a pill to review everything I've been missin',
Colours and sounds are all different,
I took a pill, but it felt more like takin' a moment,
Paper in the rain, I'm forever changed.
Opening lyrics from Mother by George FitzGerald and SYML released 19 April 2023.
Preamble
Hmmm.
Not sure about this week.
I mean, it was fine, but I did something I thought would make me feel less stressed, which didn't. I may or may not share itwith you below (probably not). Don't worry, it was nothing dodgy.
My goal this year is to work on my imposter syndrome, which funnily got discussed at a meetup this week.
I shared what Janet (my other half) suggested doing, which is to imagine yourself at your most confident, then act like it in real life.
Other than that, a chat, a retro and an interview.
Monday
Reflect and recover from last week.
Tuesday
Was going to write type more of my book, but got distracted by preparing for interviews.
Wednesday
Did interview 1, had a conversation about community standards and prep for interview 2.
Thursday
Chat with Fiona about the next Facilitator's Unconference, a retro on last week's Community-led World Summit with Francisco (organisers) and Margaux (emcee / host).
Friday
Launch of the People in Events (PIE) Network, of which I'm founding member number 3.
I led a lean coffee after lunch which threw up some interesting discussions.
Really enjoyed my time with the attendees.
Praise to Valentina for setting this up and bringing us together.
In summary:
Yeah, not bad,
No I didn't share the thing,
Hooray for people in events.
